Your FM-1's screen in the browser, live, and its buttons and encoders under your mouse or finger: for a bigger view of the screen, to show it on a projector or a stream, or to play the FM-1 from across the room. It goes over the USB cable as MIDI (FM-1 Live Link): nothing to install. The picture is drawn by SIDOU's own screen code, so it is the FM-1's LCD pixel for pixel.
This browser cannot reach the FM-1. That needs Web MIDI with SysEx, which Chrome and Edge have. Safari has no Web MIDI, and Firefox is not supported by this page. Use Chrome or Edge on a computer (Chrome on Android also works with a USB cable).
1. Connect
Plug in the FM-1 (running SIDOU 1.5 or later) and press Connect. The browser asks to use your MIDI devices with SysEx: allow it. This page sends nothing until you press Start, and then only to the output selected below.
Not connected.
2. The FM-1
No session.
Press and hold the buttons as on the FM-1. An encoder turns by dragging it up
or down, with the mouse wheel over it, with its − and +, or with the arrow keys once
it is selected. The keys under the panel play notes over MIDI. While the page is open the FM-1
shows LINK in its bottom-left corner; the session stops when you close the tab or
switch away from it, and starts again when you come back.
Computer keyboard
While keyboard control is on, the computer keyboard drives the FM-1. The device stays the source of truth: the page sends PANEL frames (buttons and encoders) and MIDI notes. Typing in the port selectors or other inputs does not send.
